Browsers and WGS Website Navigation
Browsers
We have designed this website to conform to the latest xhtml (XHTML 1.0 Transitional) standards and it works well with most browsers. We want our website to look the same regardless of which browser you use. We have attempted to use technology that will ensure that will be the case, however, making it look exactly the same regardless of which browser you use is next to impossible due in part to some differences being extreme. Since Internet Explorer is the most popular browser on the web, we have used it to make decisions on how a page should look. The next most popular browser is Firefox and then Safari. If you are a non Internet Explorer user, then you are probably used to any differences that may occur.
Monitors
We have chosen a page size which optimally fits a monitor with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels or greater. Should you have an older monitor set to 800 x 600 pixels, you may have to scroll left and right to view the entire width of the page.
Navigation
Navigating our website can be done by using one of several methods. One is the drop-down menu. Another is using the sub-menus on the left of some pages. A third is utilizing the line of "breadcrumbs" (useful in backtracking or seeing the path you used to arrive at the curent page). In addition, the page Back and Forward links on the browser can be used. And finally, a less often used method is to click on the "Site Index" and follow the listed links.
Links referred to in the text are usually blue in color and are underlined. Clicking on that link will take you to the designated page. After accessing that page, any future references to that page will appear as purple or deep pink. indicating you have accessed that page. Links to external websites are in italics. WGS is not responsible for the content of other websites. If you have opened an external website, you can use your browser back button to return to the WGS website.
